In addition, certain medicines may impact test results [e.g. cephalosporins (e.g. Cefoxitin), cimetidine (Tagamet), fibrates (e.g. Ciprofibrate) and trimethoprim-sulfamethoxazole (Bactrim)]. Let your physician know about your use of these medications. Do not change use of medications unless instructed to do so by your healthcare provider. Female patients should not collect urine during a menstrual period.
Description:
Lipid peroxides are the products of chemical damage done by oxygen free radicals to the polyunsaturated (double-bonded) fatty acids of cell membranes. They cause a variety of toxic effects at the cellular level and their creation is considered a extreme process in biological systems. Their formation can be blocked by antioxidants, such as vitamin E, structural separation or low oxygen tension.
